Manchester United fans have taken to Twitter to reveal that they want Tanguy Ndombele at Old Trafford.
The 6-cap France international only signed for Tottenham back in the summer, putting pen to paper on a deal worth £53.8m – a club-record fee for the north Londoners.
However, Ndombele has struggled to set the world alight with Spurs, and was substituted at half-time in Tottenham’s last outing against Burnley before Jose Mourinho singled him out for criticism in his post-match press conference.
In total, the former Lyon star has only managed 12 Premier League starts this season, as talk regarding his worrying fitness levels have dominated his maiden campaign in England’s top-flight.
Having arrived for such a significant sum, more was perhaps to be expected of the Frenchman, who has so far failed to convince despite impressing in flashes – his curling equaliser against Aston Villa on his debut was a highlight.
In the aftermath of Mourinho’s scathing comments towards the 23-year-old, a number of United fans on Twitter have revealed that they’d like him to sign for the club…
To kick off the reaction, a fan named Tom said that Ndombele would be the perfect replacement for Paul Pogba in the summer.
The former Juventus star and World Cup winner has made his intentions to leave Old Trafford clear, with his agent – Mino Raiola – telling The Times that exact information.
Pogba has made just seven Premier League appearances this season.
Elsewhere, another fan said that the Red Devils need Tottenham’s club-record signing at Old Trafford.
From non-League to the Premier League: Where did these top-flight stars begin their careers?
To be honest, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s midfield is actually looking quite healthy as things stand, so Ndombele may not necessarily be needed – the Norwegian has Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic, Fred, Bruno Fernandes and Juan Mata at his disposal, as well as Pogba for now.
